For this drop, we’re heading back to October 29, 1983—when NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations ran two final excursion trips along the North Jersey Coast Line to bid farewell to the legendary GG1 electric locomotive. Originally built in the 1930s and ’40s for the Pennsylvania Railroad, 135 of these powerful units hauled passengers and freight between New York and Washington for decades. NJ TRANSIT was the last to operate this iconic class, closing the chapter on a railroading era.
The artwork featured on this tee is a special one: it’s a faithful NJ TRANSIT replica of the original design created by retired NJ TRANSIT employee Brian Koch back in 1983, capturing the energy and nostalgia of that historic day.
This heavyweight, 100% combed ring spun cotton tee is designed with an oversized fit, drop shoulders, a rib knit crewneck collar, and a tear-away label for added comfort. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, and keep that t-shirt looking its best—just don’t iron it!
